The Challenge
Designer Appliances, the leading appliance retailer in New York and New Jersey, needed a refreshed E-commerce platform that could effectively showcase their extensive product catalog while inspiring customers to visualize how the appliances would fit into their homes. The existing website lacked the organization and visual appeal required to engage users, leading to missed opportunities for online purchases. The challenge was to design a platform that combined functionality, inspiration, and user-friendliness to drive exploration and sales.

As Creative Director at Fermented Pixels, I led the redesign of Designer Appliances’ website, focusing on crafting a seamless and captivating user experience. Working closely with my team and the company’s leadership, we developed a robust information architecture using detailed site mapping, user flows, and high-fidelity wireframes. This ensured intuitive navigation and an effortless browsing experience across the platform’s vast catalog.
Building on Designer Appliances’ established brand identity and color palette, we infused creativity into the design through photography direction and visually rich layouts. The result was a stunning and engaging website that not only showcased products effectively but also inspired users with aspirational content, helping them envision these appliances in their own homes.
