Motorola Solutions

UX/UI Design for Internal Collaboration Platform

Close Copy

Challenge

Motorola Solutions needed a centralized internal platform to improve how employees shared ideas, feedback, and cross-department insights. Email chains, message boards, and disconnected tools slowed collaboration and limited visibility into innovation efforts. The organization required a scalable, intuitive system that could unify teams and support structured idea development across departments.

Strategy

As design lead, I directed the UX/UI and information architecture for the platform. I mapped collaboration workflows, created detailed wireframes and interactive prototypes, and partnered with stakeholders to refine features and usability. The interface focused on clarity, transparency, and ease of contribution, enabling employees to submit ideas, track progress through defined pipelines, and collaborate within a single, structured system.

Results

The platform became a central hub for innovation. Idea sharing increased by 150 percent, time spent on email and fragmented tools decreased by 45 percent, and cross-department collaboration grew by 250 percent within three quarters of launch. The application strengthened internal communication and accelerated problem-solving across the organization.
