The Challenge

Vint & York, a vintage-inspired eyewear company with a distinctly hipster aesthetic, had an exceptional product but lacked the brand and marketing presence to match. Positioned in downtown New York City with a clever name combining “Vintage” and “New York,” they needed a cohesive brand identity that captured their unique charm and resonated with their target audience. Without a functional website or marketing materials, the company faced challenges in translating their vision into a recognizable and marketable brand.

The challenge was to build an authentic and engaging identity from the ground up, creating a digital presence, marketing assets, and a visual narrative that would elevate Vint & York to become a standout in the competitive eyewear market.

The Strategy

As Creative Director and design lead, I played a pivotal role in shaping Vint & York’s brand identity. I collaborated with stakeholders to design a sleek, vintage-inspired aesthetic that embodied their playful yet sophisticated ethos. My approach included creating a dynamic website that seamlessly integrated e-commerce functionality with storytelling to showcase their eyewear collection. I also storyboarded, directed, and edited a YouTube video series, featuring models going about their day in Vint & York glasses, paired with music that spoke to the target demographic.

Beyond the visuals, I developed a strategy to connect the brand with its audience through social media campaigns and marketing materials. By blending fashion, nostalgia, and New York culture, I ensured the brand stood out and resonated both online and in-store.

The Results

Vint & York’s reimagined brand and digital presence drove impressive results. Within the first six months, social media ad campaigns increased unique site visitors by 35%, while total sales surpassed $1 million online and in-store within 18 months of the brand’s launch. By the third quarter of the first year, brand awareness had increased by 50%, showcasing the effectiveness of the new identity and marketing efforts.

This project not only established Vint & York as a compelling player in the eyewear market but also highlighted the transformative power of thoughtful branding and design. The cohesive approach brought their vintage-inspired vision to life, creating a lasting impression and setting the foundation for sustained growth.
