The Challenge
Figaro, formerly the iconic Le Figaro Café, aimed to honor its storied Greenwich Village roots while transforming into a modern bar and restaurant. The challenge was to craft a brand identity that seamlessly balanced the venue’s historic significance with its new vision—offering distinctive American cuisine and expertly crafted cocktails. The branding needed to resonate with loyal fans of the original café while appealing to a new generation of patrons drawn to its bold and playful modernity.
In addition to creating the new brand identity, the website and digital presence had to be built from the ground up to establish Figaro’s online footprint. The goal was to design an engaging digital platform that enhanced user experience, drove reservations, and supported marketing efforts. This cohesive approach ensured Figaro’s unique essence stood out in the competitive NYC restaurant and bar scene.
The Strategy
As design lead, I crafted a comprehensive brand strategy and identity that celebrated Figaro’s rich history while embracing its modern evolution. I designed a vibrant and unique visual identity, infusing playful, bold, and avant-garde elements that honored the café’s legacy while creating a fresh, contemporary appeal. From print collateral and signage to web design and digital marketing assets, every element was designed to capture Figaro’s distinct charm and elevate its presence.
The website redesign focused on sleek aesthetics, intuitive navigation, and optimized performance, reducing load times by 55%. A targeted 360 marketing campaign, including digital ads and social media assets, helped drive engagement and seamlessly integrated the brand’s playful, campy tone with its modern edge. The Results
Figaro’s transformation was met with overwhelming success. Website optimizations resulted in a 55% decrease in load times, enhancing the user experience and increasing conversions.
