Brand Identity + Restaurant Experience

Challenge

Figaro, formerly the iconic Le Figaro Café, was preparing to relaunch as a modern bar and restaurant while preserving its status as a Greenwich Village institution since 1957. The challenge was not simply to refresh a logo, but to reintroduce an icon to a new generation. The brand needed to honor decades of cultural history while projecting confidence, clarity, and contemporary relevance across every physical and digital touchpoint.

Strategy

I led the brand transformation from the ground up, shaping the identity system, messaging, digital presence, and in-restaurant experience. The work spanned logo architecture, typography, menus, packaging, signage, environmental graphics, website design, and integrated campaign assets. Every element was designed as part of a cohesive system, balancing heritage with modern sophistication to create a unified brand experience from storefront to screen.

Results

The relaunch delivered immediate commercial impact. Reservations increased by 375 percent, newsletter sign-ups rose by 260 percent, and the redesigned website reduced load times by 55 percent while improving conversions. Figaro re-emerged not just as a renovated space, but as a fully realized brand with renewed cultural presence and measurable business momentum.

Reintroducing an Icon for a New Generation

This targeted campaign supported Figaro’s relaunch by translating its historic legacy into bold, contemporary creative built for digital channels. High-impact imagery, confident typography, and clear messaging re-positioned the brand as both a neighborhood staple and a modern destination. The work balanced nostalgia with momentum, driving awareness, engagement, and early demand ahead of reopening.
